Endurance Festival offers road and mountain bike events

Endurance Festival Sep. 12 trail AND road events
www.EnduranceFestival.com
Added road events on this date. Now you can choose from run, trail run, road cycling, mountain biking, duathlon, off-road duathlon, and 4 hour trail races (run or mountain bike)

Time to get ready for the Pocatello Endurance Festival September 12. Register at www.EnduranceFestival.com and use the coupon code EF5OFF for a $5.00 discount off registration fees! Once again the Portneuf Medical Center has helped us offer FREE registrations to any youth 17 and under in ANY division in the Endurance Festival. You can add free youth registrations by going to http://vbcamps.com/freePMC.htm. Participate with your youth. A great family experience. Great memories!

Something for everyone. Come together and do your thing. Divisions include:
a.. Mountain bike 20K, 40K and 4-hour 2-person or solo races
b.. Road cycling 20K and 40K
c.. Trail run 5K, 10K, and half marathon (13.1 miles)
d.. Road run 5K, 10K, and half marathon (13.1 miles)
e.. DuXreme off-road duathlon 25K and 50K (25K = 20K mountain bike, then 5K trail run; or 50K = 40K mountain bike, then 10K trail run)... bike, then run format (triathlon format without the swim)
f.. DuXreme road duathlon 25K and 50K (25K = 20K road cycling, then 5K road/greenway run; or 50K = 40K road cycling, then 10K run)... no drafting bike, then run format
g.. NEW 4 hour races on the trails. Enter as a 2 person team or solo. Race for 4 hours. Options in trail run, mountain bike, or off-road duathlon. Complete as many laps as possible. The person that completes the most laps in the shortest time wins. A new twist on 12/24 hour races. All teammates race at the same time instead of relay. Hammer the course with your friend.
h.. Festival with live music and booths in Centennial Park. The start and finish line are in the middle of the festival. Start together, do your event, finish together, celebrate your accomplishments.
i.. Free spaghetti feed and check in party Friday night at Barrie's Ski and Sports... yes, free dinner, music, and free bike checks. You gotta love that. And with the added bonus that you get to sleep in later on race day.
Newly added road/greenway events for September 12!
Updated road course
a.. Due to popularity, we have added in road events for the Sep. 12 Endurance Festival. The course is scenic and low traffic. The run follows the Portneuf River on the paved Portneuf Greenway and crosses a pedestrian wood suspension bridge.
b.. Improved running course eliminated the multiple mini-laps within the park. The course still comes through the park and festival. We also have our GPS dialed in this time!
c.. Improved road cyling course now goes up Mink Creek Road, instead of out Portneuf Road. This adds some rolling hills and eliminates a left turn (i.e. safer route). We have also improved the turn around at Centennial Park.
Amazing trail courses
a.. The famed City Creek Trail System will be home to the singletrack trail courses. There will be feed/drink stations out on the trail courses.
b.. The mountain bike course was designed for ultimate fun... Burrito Loop, Lichen, Serengeti, upper City Creek along the creek, over bridges, and under a canopy of trees; twisty Mushroom, Sullivans, Bump trail, fun desent down Death Valley. You get the full experience!
c.. Trail run up along the creek under a canopy of trees. Run bridges and more.
The September 12 Endurance Festival will be our third produced in Pocatello. It has been growing with each event (the May 16 event was 38% larger than in 2008!). Come join the fun and great courses.
