These crits are every Tuesday at the Fairgrounds. They start going off around six and then finish up a little before 9. It would be nice to see some more people show up to these. They are split into different groups depending on ability level. So it gives people who haven't done much racing to get in with those close to their level. They are a great way to get out and get some excercise, as well as work on bike handling skills and racing tactics. Each flight lasts from 30 -45 min depending on the level, so they aren't extrememly long. Even if you don't feel like jumping in just yet come out and give your support and see what it is all about. If anyone has any questions about these or anything else feel free to ask.
It is a weekly series of criteriums. That happen every tuesday for the next couple of months. They are meant mostly for rider development. The criteriums are just l like the Twilight Criterium downtown. There is an aloted course, usually around 1 kilometer, that riders go around for a designated amount of time, plus a couple laps. They starting counting down the laps when there are around 9 laps to go. Crits are faster than road races and they rely more on bike skills, punchiness and tactics. They are a great deal of fun once you get the hang of it and feel comfortable riding in the group. I also have to say that getting involved in a crash is a possiblity. However, there have only been a two crashes in the last couple years that I know about.
