micrguy New Pavement On Eagle Road/Willow Creek Road - How Far Out?

Rode out to the end of Eagle Road/Willow Creek Road yesterday and I always turn around at that ranch where the pavement ends. However it looks like they chip sealed the road past the ranch within the last month and I rode up to the cattle guard and then had to turn around. Does anyone know how much further they chip sealed the road? From the little bit that I rode, the quality of the road is somewhere between hard packed dirt and crappy chip seal, but you can still ride it on a road bike. It wo… Continue

Blair VanderLugt Anyone want to carpool from downtown Boise to the Eagle velo park?

I was wondering if anyone would like to coordinate some carpool action out to the Velopark for some evening rides. My car is out of commission but I would throw down on some gas money or liquid refreshments. Continue

Andie First century ride

Hi all. I am planning my first century ride at the Bob LeBow bike tour this June. I was wondering if anyone has done one and would love any tips you might have. Diet, training schedule and excercises, whatever. Also, is anyone else planning on doing this? Maybe we could get a team together? Continue

danielo Bike locking & safety

I accidentally met Detective Jeff Dustin today (under good circumstances, fortunately!). He deals a lot with recoving stolen bikes and prosecuting bike thieves, and we shared a frustration about the poor manner in which many cyclists lock their bikes. He would like to help develop some promotional and educational items to help people learn to be wiser about locking up their bikes, and he would also like to local cycling advocacy groups about helping push for more prosecutorial action against bik… Continue

danielo Boise Bike Week 2009

Howdy all! I just found this cool site, glad to be involved. I'm on the planning committee for Boise Bike Week 2009, and wanted to mention it. It's May 11-16, 2009. There are some great things planned, including a new and improved Pedal Power Parade on the 16th, which is going to be a true parade, rather than the basic ride it's been in years past. We're putting together some online resources, so keep an eye on BoiseBikeWeek.org. Continue

Willie What's old is new again....

Boy, I wish that applied to me. I turned 41 recently and I've been fighting various and sundry injuries for about 5 months now, which combined with a crazy work schedule has kept me from riding a bike in as many months. I've gotten pudgy and weak in the meantime, but I'm getting motivated to start cycling serious again. My wife is mad because I haven't ridden my new Cannondale but a handful of times since I got it last year. I'm anxious to get back on the road. Continue

Paul Watson Im back on the saddle again!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot express how great it is to ride again. It is weird how even as a grown adult, the feeling of freedom and control of riding a bike is still exciting to this day. I remember learning how to ride. My sister loaned me her bike, and threw me in the rose bushes! At that point I learned something, besides to watch where I was going, I learned that I could control where I was going. After a few years of riding, I decided I wanted to start racing bmx. I enjoyed and lived and breathed bmx/freesty… Continue

Uhl Welcome to Boise Cycling!

I created this site as an experiment in social networking to see if there's enough critical mass in the Boise area to warrant its own gathering place. Ideally, I hope that this can become "the" place to go to find all things cycling-related in the Treasure Valley. While there are a few sites tailored to specific groups (SWICA, local club sites, etc.) I thought it would be nice to have a cross-discipline site that would be more of a networking tool, than just a site for race results or route m
